Trent doesn't know how he's friends with so many children of Hermes, and is seriously questioning his association with them when Jesse drags him through camp in the middle of the night with several mysterious bags that he forces the son of Hephaestus to carry.

“So what exactly, is happening here?” Trent asks, as Jesse hushes him with a wave of his hand, the light from the lava wall illuminating their path. “There's no one out here,” the taller boy says, and he hears his friend snort.

“We're preparing for tomorrow,” Jesse says as he grabs one of the bags from Trent, throwing the contents at the lava wall. “Got that from the snow kid,” he says, and Trent narrows his eyes as the lava freezes on the wall.

He tilts his head as Jesse sabotages most of the training area and raises an eyebrow, opening his mouth to ask a question before Jesse throws him a bag. “Go put that in the stables, okay? It won't hurt the pegasi, it's just...a diversion,”

Trent does as he's told, and gets out as fast as he can, hoping the beasts won't try to kill him. “Jesse seriously, what's tomorrow?”

The son of Hermes glances at his friend before walking over and clapping him on the shoulder. “My friend,” he says seriously, “Tomorrow is supposed to be the best day ever. Why? Because I decided it would be. So we're ensuring everyone gets a day off to just kick back and hang out. Besides, with tensions rising with Percy still gone, don't you think we need this?”

Trent looks around and nods slightly, smiling at his friend. “You've got a point man, but we're going to be in so much trouble,”

Jesse nods with a heavy sigh before going to trail barbed wire through the foot racing track. “I know man. I know. But it'll be worth it, trust me.”
